However, before he can do so, he must first successfully navigate the city’s underground system. Thabang Motsei’s journey across Siberia continues. She visits one of the major Buddhist temples in Russia, Ivolginsky Datsan. This is the resting place of Dashi-Dorzho Itigelov, a monk who died almost 90 years ago but whose body is miraculously preserved.
