The day has arrived for the cadets to make the jump: they suit up and board an Ilyushin Il-76MD with their parachutes. The girls are nervous but there's no turning back now. They line up and take the plunge out of the aircraft. The girls and their male comrades release their parachutes and descend into a snowy field. They land safely in or near the drop zone but struggle with their parachutes. Ekaterina is pulled along the ground by her parachute and later an officer reprimands her for tearing her rucksack. They do a little shooting in the field, check their equipment and compare notes. Everyone agrees that the jump was difficult but fun.
